The Morning Sky

The Crescent Moon and Jupiter

This morning, as I left for work, this is what greeted me in the eastern sky.

Last night, I read a blog with 10 tips for being a super skygazer.  The #1 tip–look up.  It stated that most of us go through life looking straight ahead.  To enjoy the stars, we need to look up.  A very simple idea.  If we want to see something, sometimes we need to look for it.

If we want to see the good in life, or see happiness, or appreciate beauty, we need to alter our gaze and just look for it.  That means turning away for the TV news with its seemingly endless streak of bad news and look for the good and the kind and the beautiful that is around us, but often hidden, just because we aren’t looking for it.
