Eight years ago this morning, our nation was changed forever. Within a few days, we saw flags flying everywhere. Posters claimed that “We Will Never Forget.” The terrible violence had brought the nation together.
The flags all all gone. As a nation, we have pretty much forgotten what happened 8 years ago and how we felt. The unity is gone.
Today, let’s remember the lives of those who were killed by the terrorists. Let’s remember the lives of the men and the women who have died or have been wounded protecting our nation. And let’s remember that the threat is still there.
