There are a number of conservatives that have stated that they cannot and will not vote for John McCain. They are missing the point of elections. We rarely have the chance to vote for our “perfect” candidate. We usually need to vote for the one that most closely matches what we want.
I’m not a big John McCain guy. McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, and Gang of 14 are three reasons why I’m not too keen on him. However, given the choice between McCain and Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, it is a slam dunk. McCain is my choice, in spite of all his problems.

The possible Supreme Court appointments are too important to turn them over to a left-liberal president.
The world is too dangerous a place just to sit out an election because the candidates cannot pass a personal litmus test.
So, we do have a choice. The options might not be ideal, but politics has never been about pure choices.
